Girlstart
Girlstart’s mission is to increase girls’ interest and engagement in STEM.
Since 1997, Girlstart has served over 100,000 girls and 15,000 teachers and families with school-based programs, professional development for teachers, summer camps, STEM career conferences and expos, large-scale science events for families, and community STEM education outreach programs.
Girlstart After School participants consistently and dramatically out-perform their peers on standardized math and science tests. Girlstart girls also, post-program participation, enroll in advanced math and science courses at a significantly higher rate than their non-participant peers.
