Following the competition, Miranda also received the DiscoverE Bell Girl Day grant to fund a project that showcases different aspects of engineering to young girls. With the knowledge that Miranda learned from the Future City® program, Miranda created a hands-on challenge for K-8 students to build the tallest tower possible using limited recycled resources in only 5 minutes! Miranda’s project reached around 600-700 students - 86% girls - as part of the University of Texas at Austin STEM Girl Day.
